Aitan you ask awhile back about viruses. I logged in and got this message:

Accessed File is Infected

Threat detected

File name: b.euiweyn2iqi.com/zqpqwioqewoiqa/indexphp

Threat name: Exploit MDAC Active X code execution (type165)

No idea what any of this means but it showed up when I tried to log in.

Aitan, when logging in to reply to Joyce I got the same message from my Norton Antivirus. This is a "critical" threat that they have blocked and I will get off now and run my antivirus. I heard that I had just won a Wii game before Norton kicked in.

I got a message this afternoon on my computer that I should update ASAP as I had many virus' on my computer. Looked like the real AVG logo. The last time I had that, I clicked on it, and bingo, computer froze. This time I shut down, turned back on, and ran my scans right away and got rid of it. It called it a fake alert on my scans.

But it wasn't when I was on here just in case you all need to know that info. My sisters boyfriend was on a few websites when it happened.

Thanks for the updates. I don't seem to be having that issue. Are you using firefox? There is a great pop-up blocker you can install with the newest firefox. Definitely don't click on the boxes that pop up and say they are anti viruses, just click ALT-F4 so that you don't even have to click on the X. The people that run the forums claimed they fixed the virus problems, and the last we had an issue I asked them to scan our forum and they said it was clear, so it may be the browser you are using or any other sites that are opened. Let me know if you keep having problems and I will contact them again.

Aitan,

My computer went down completely just before Christmas. It would not boot up. When my SIL took it in they said it was a virus. They repaired the computer and installed FireFox at that time so I assume it is a new version that's where I got the pop up I mentioned. I haven't had it since then but I have had it between Christmas and when I started this post.
There has to be something. Too many of us are having problems and I don't think the possibility of all of us picking up the same virus by visiting the same other site is that great.

If you contact them again, would you see if we can get rid of the pop up at the top that says "You have a message" click here. or You have won click here.

Hey guys, I'm going to contact the freeforum people to ask them about the trojans that you guys have been experiencing. In the meantime please run your popup blocker at all times, don't click on any popups, and use a free software called spybot, it does wonders for cleaning your computer. You can find it here http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-a ... 22137.html

I can vouch for Spybot. The place that got rid of my last virus installed it before he returned it back to me. I got a fake download last week that said it was an AVG update. It was not. Thats what I clicked on the last time I got a virus. I ran spybot, and it took it right out. Also AVG is good too. They actually called it a fake alert.

Hi caregivers.. here's the reply that I received from the free forums support staff.

Me to them:
There seems to be some viruses or trojans invading my forum, and my members are having serious issues with their computers as a result. Can you please look into this, my members are telling me they are seeing popups and fake "antivirus" offers that they cannot X out when they are coming to my forum. www.adcaregiver.com

Free forums tech support to me:

This was a false positive that some AV software was having with the click through links on some ads. There is nothing detrimental with a click through but the AV companies apparently are using a pattern that sets of this false positive.

This was investigated and taken to the ad providers who have since resolved the issue. If people are still getting this they should try deleting their temp files in the browser and their browser cache.
