Joyce,

Know you were going to see your brother. But we haven't heard from you and are getting concerned. If you can, let us know how you, Bill and your brother are doing and what's going on.

Thinking of you,
Jackie

I'm back Jackie. Thanks for your concern. As you know my brother was diagnosed with bone cancer on the eighth of Sept. He was given less than six months . I got Bill into respite on the 18th and my sister and I drove to Ga. to see him. I'm not sure he knew we were there because of the pain meds and they were also giving him 1mg. of ativan twice a day. I got him set up with hospice the day we got there. My niece said they were a hugh help to her. He went down quickly and he passed away this past Monday, Oct. 13. He was 67 years old. My niece opted not to have any funeral service and decided on cremation. I think part of her decision was based on the fact that he had no life insurance and she couldn't afford a big service. Also, she knew that there was no way that I could get back down there nor could either of my sisters since one of them is recovering from a mild stroke. There would have been no family there except her own children and husband. I talk to her everyday and she is doing everything she needs to do.

I have spoken many times about the great neighbors we have up here and how much help they have been to me. Let you know that he had a heart attack and just got home from the hospital Sun. after quadruple bi-pass. He is doing well.

Bill is quickly going down, also. He is now sleeping about 18 hours out of 24. Either in the wheel chair or his recliner. He is still eating good but losing weight non the less. His BP is also going down. Last week it was down from a normal of 130/70 to 100/60. This week it was 90/60. Right now I'm just praying that I will be able to get him home before something happens to him. Respite is set up for Oct. 30 and I will at that time get the house closed up for the winter. We're heading back home on the 4th of Nov. Hospice has already made arrangements to have the equipment we need delivered the afternoon we get there.

I guess I don't have to say, but, I've had better days. But I'm still hanging in there and taking care of both of us.

I may not be back here until we get back down state but I will still be thinking of all of you. Take care and I'll see you soon.

Joyce,
My condolences to you on the loss of your brother.

Glad to hear from you but sad for all the bad news. I'm so sorry to hear that Bill is not doing well. Thanks for letting us know what is going on with you. You have much on your plate, and we'll be here when you need us.

God be with you, and we'll talk to you soon.

Jackie

Joyce, I am sorry to hear about your brother. I too will hope everything holds out until you get back down here with Bill and I'm glad you have the help of hospice getting things set up.
