Last night was the annual Christmas party for Bill's family. There was no was we could go, but our daughters' went. That way I got all the family news for the year.
A nephew is getting married in April. A niece became a grandma. The grandma part was a big gaurded secret because daughter isn't married.

Catherine, our daughter, said talking to Bill's brother was like reliving two years ago with her dad. He also has AD only earlier stage. At one point his daughter told him "Mother will be right back". She said she remembered saying those same words two years ago when we last went. She also said that his sister was showing signs. Her kids said she was getting hard to handle. That is three out of five kids with AD. Bill's mother also had it. I guess his oldest brother might be safe, but he has another brother who is younger.

I called his SIL today and she ask if it would be alright if they came over to see Bill the day after Christmas. We haven't seen them in three years. I'll let you know if they come.

It is interesting to see how the disease is attacking each one of Bill's siblings. So sad... and yet, as a family, perhaps there is enough support to share with each other.

God bless you and your family, Joyce. May we see a cure or preventative for the next generation.

Oh Joyce,

How terrible that 3 out of five children have AD. Gosh, I sure hope that our next generation will be able to somehow stop that in its tracks. I know with Mom having it, I'm really worried about myself and the kids. They joke with me about it sometimes and say that I'm already getting like Grandma, and I laugh and tell them about caregivers dementia, but in my heart, I'm dying.

I keep telling them to just put me in a home, or see if Kevorkian is still around. My heart breaks knowing that they may have to do what I do.

Jackie
