I would like to make a clone of myself, the clone can do all the cooking, cleaning and laundry plus give meds and make sure mom's shirt isn't inside-out.

The "real" me would take naps and paint my toenails!

Howdy,
might as well go for the whole works and get the manicure also.. if you have clones and they are doing evrything. then you wont have to worry about picking poop out from under your freshly polished finger nails :D

Hey Kat,
Welcome and rant away!
I think it's a safe place to vent about some of the
feelings and situations we find ourselves in.
It's kinda hard to deal with what everybody here
deals with and not have an outlet!
Friends, even in cyberspace, can provide that
nice, safe place.
Sure am glad to see so many friends arriving!
Carol

The pots & pans and Disney princess phone are with mom's 3 eyeglass cases, which have disappeared since yesterday. :?

Thanks everyone! :)

It's nice to rant, cleans the soul. :D It's nice "not to get pinned to the wall" for ranting too..as my Dad would say.

I wish I had a clone sometimes lol, there are some days I'd rather send the clone into the line of fire than me go check up on MIL lol. But the clone couldn't get cookies lol, those are for me :D.

O.K. Do any of you remeber the hide the bean under the cup game? Last visit to see Mom. in California, I live in Montana, it was important for her to take her "NEW" glasses, prescription that my "SISTER" bought for her, to her Drivers Test.

I wanted her to "FAIL" but with the glasses, so they wouldn't just say, "Come back in three months, with the 'right' glasses?" And "I" would no longer be there. I fully intended to sabotage this test in any way that I could? Anyway, she passed her friggin Drivers test, with the help of my Dim-Witted Sisters...Anyway, I digress.

So, Mom has about 10 pair of readers, and ALWAYS losing them (about $10.00 each) and only "ONE" pair of her new glasses? I discovered that she paid nearly $400.00 for them, and because she is very "Scotch" thought this would help, but it didn't. So, I would line them all jup, tell her which was what, and then ask her immediately "So which ones are your Drivers Glasses?" "These?" "No" "These" "No" "These" "No, Mom"

O.K. I would thing that someone that can not tell their drivers glasses, from their readers, ahould not be allowed to drive, but she is? ARRRGGGG!

Oh, and the latest. I don't want you to think I am a Sister hater, in general?

I called Sister #2 in Oklahoma, who has just returned from visitng Mom for two weeks, for the first time since she has been diagnosed. I asked if she knew what the heck they were doing about her Financial DPOA. I did know they are trying to fire her, and may succeed.

She says "Oh, Mom is doing SO MUCH BETTER Sister #1 thinks she can manage-her-own affairs? HUH? O.K. Keep in mind we are paying $3,000.00 per Month for a Private Duty Nurse, to give her One daily Insulin Injection, because she might kill herself by accident, Stage "6" Alzheimers. Can't tell you what she had for breakfast, two minutes later?

I tell Sister "2 "Mom can not even fill out a check, and doesn't know what Month it is?" "That is why Tom, her Husband, is now filling out all of her checks" she says "Oh, that, Tom is just filling out Mother's checks, because they think it is ROMANTIC!"

Dumb as a box of rocks, and a NURSE? There, I feel better!

Well, I would say that is somewhere beyond incomprehensible and coming up pretty fast on delusional.

Okay. My rant of the day: Why can't my DH understand that when I have a migraine I don't feel up to doing ANYTHING?

I didn't sleep last night and ended up sleeping on the couch because I was so restless. I was nauseated and felt like I would have a vertigo attack, but he convinced me to go to church.

Headache got worse as worship went on. Thank goodness, we don't have instrumental music or a choir... either one would have been enough to send me over the remnants of the 'edge!'

Afterwards, I tell him I'm not in any mood to eat out, but I'm not in the mood to cook at home, either. Instead of dropping me off at home, we drove into town and got some burgers to bring home. This entire ride is with my eyes closed and complaining that even the turn signals are too loud.

I did get him to let me lay down for a bit and I did catch a little sleep, I guess. Headache is still with me, though.

Now he just left the condo, po'd at me, because I don't feel up to visiting FIL (Old Navy) at the NH. Like I'd be in any mood to cajol him into eating anything! He can't figure out why I could care for ON with headaches at home, but won't visit him in the NH now. When ON was at home, I had no choice. Now I do.

1) the lights bother my eyes. That's why the lights are off.
2) the echo's in the hallway bother my head. Remember the turn signals?
3) I really don't feel like biting everyone's head off for talking so loudly.
4) If I eat anything while there, I'll be looking for a waste can or toilet (maybe DH's shirt pocket) to perform dry heaves into afterwards.

This may be minor, but when you have a migraine, everything becomes major... like that pebble in the shoe...

Deb,

Hi! So good to see you here.

I've only had a couple of migraines (don't know how I have managed that...) and they were terrible. The first was shortly after I was married. We lived in a brand new apartment complex with thick carpeting. I was in bed and DH was moving around in the living room and I could hear every step he took like someone was beating on a kettle drum. It was horrible.

Take care of yourself and I hope your headache eases.

Oh Deb, I hear you loud and clear. i have suffered from migraines since I was a teenager. In your description you forgot to mention where you are eventually laying on the floor holding your head. I always said that if someone broke into my house during a migraine, I would beg them to just shoot me.
