OHMYGOD! And you will never guess how I heard about it? I watch CNN, like some people watch Sports, all the time, but anyway, I wasn't tonight! And my Mom calls me? What? She NEVER calls me! But she called to tell me they just had a big Earthquake! 5. something, and that they were fine, but I was sure to hear about it?

Well, this is good news to me! She knows where my phone number is, and she used it in a jiffy, when she got scared! Hallaluah! I asked her if she was calling everyone she knew, and she said "No, just you, honey!" Oh, be still my heart!

I am used to Earthquakes, growing up in California, and have been through alot of them. But I asked her to listen to the radio carefully, about any gas lines being broken, or to 'smell' around their house!

OHMYGOD, all of our other California friends? She thinks it's epicenter was in San Jose, not very far away from them? (Santa Clara County)

I must go look at the news about it!

Nancy,
Well the bad news was the earthquake. But the bad news was also the good news. She called you!! My God, that must have made your day for sure (not the earthquake of course).

Funny how earthquakes can shake up more than just the earth. It gave you dear mother a little jolt too. As you and Lori would say, "Doing the happy dance!! Take care, and let us know what's going on.

Love,
jackie

Well I couldn't find out a thing! There is nothing on the news here, zip! Not even on CNN! But I called a few girlfriends, and decided to call Mom's Nurse, Eva, who was practically right on top of it, in Morgan Hill! She is fine, but was busy calling all of her caregivers & patients.

It is also good news that Sister #1 is gone, because Eva didn't see my Mom for two weeks!! GASP! And Mom has a rash..down there...bad hiegene, and do you think that my Sister "The Doctor" do you think she did anything about it? "NO!"

It is pathetic, that I am releived, that my own flesh & blood is gone, and my Mother's Nurse, Eva, from the Phillipines is back to seeing her every day!

Today, they threw out "OLD" underware, and she found the clean ones, that I bought her in July, at the bottom of the bag. Mom can not tell the difference between old, and new, dirty or clean, and she has a rash because of this! Oh, I do not like to hear that! But, I guess things could be worse.

I asked Eva to please smell for gas tomorrow too.

I did finally find an article in "The San Francisco Chronicle" and it mentioned Palo Alto, where Mom lives, and that all the Fire Trucks came out, but no damage, and no one injured, so far. My girlfriend said they are not out-of-the-woods, for another 1/2 hour, they could have a bigger one! Prayers please, no more Earthquakes tonight!

Mom also went straight from "Did you hear what happened?" to "We finally watched "Dancing With The Stars" last night!" so I guess not that upset about it. But yeah, I am soooo "HAPPY" that she thought to call me in Montana? Go figure?

Wow I'm impressed that Mom thought to call you. What a relief to know that she still knows to do that. Cute, she didn't want you to worry. Mom knows you, doesn't she?

Yes, Lori, she sure does 'know' me *SIGH* for 52 years! That is one good thing about being "OLD" Long Term Memory is the last to go, ya know!

Of course I have mixed emotions, but yes, so sweet for you "ALL" to know how tickled I am that she called period, but during something dangerous, a potential emergency? Priceless! *Sniff* *Sniff*

I found a bunch of articles this morning. Here is one.
