I'm glad your mother had a good day yesterday. The naps probably helped you more than anything. Your mother and Bill would have gotten along great. Bill loved to dance, they could have tapped their toes together.
You did your part with your brother so the ball's still in his court.

Don't worry about bringing us down, we all know what you're going through and are here to comfort anyway we can.
Thanks for thinking about the surgery. Everything went good. They fused two disks or would it be four disks? It was the 5-6 and 6-7, that's only three isn't it?. The surgery was scheduled for noon and we had to be at the hospital by 11. It was after one before they took him down and almost 2:30 when the surgery started. They told us it would take 2-3 hours but by 4 they were done. He came home about 7 and sat down and ate dinner with us. They said he would be on a soft diet for a few weeks because of a sore throat but he ate mostacholi (how do you spell that word). The bad part is that he has to wear a neck brace for six weeks to give the bones time to fuse. He is not going to like that.

I know that was a long day for all of you. I don't know anything about back surgery, but that is amazing he went home the same day. Wow! What they can do nowadays....... In and out and then the recovery begins. I hope he doesn't have any complications. I bet that neck brace will get old, quickly. Bless his heart.

Don't get me doing math!!! Uhhh, 3, 4, 2, heck I don't know either! Ha. And of all things, I have to work on this Social Security Payee Report soon. Ahhh! I may just fudge on it a little and go by last year's and hope they never audit!

Yeah, you're right about my brother. I guess that's just something else I'll have to take with a grain of salt. (Bet y'all think I'm crazy for having all these little "visuals" around the house. Oh, well, call me the crazy sister on here, fine with me, as long as I'm YOUR sister!)

That cake I made for Linda isn't going to be a visual for long. Geez, it's going fast and I've only given Mom two pieces! Me, 3, 4, 5.....but who's counting, I can't!!!

I never worried about the soc. sec. payee report. When I got it, where it ask how much was spent on housing, food, utilities, etc. I put the entire amount right there and sent it back. They never questioned anything. Guess it may depend on how much ss you recieve. I didn't even worry about receipts because I figured it would be very easy to prove utilities, property taxes and all the other routine expenses.
I was Bill's payee for almost five years. Just make sure you never forget to mail it back in. They will stop the ss if you do. Always make a copy of it before mailing it back.

Hope your day is good.

sames u,

You are so clever...........I'm still laughing over the morton salt on the counter.

My mom really liked it when I played music for her, although she didn't "dance" along. ( Thank goodness she didn't sing along either, she had a terrible singing voice   :P :) ) She particularly enjoyed listening to the hymns of Tennessee Ernie Ford. From the expression on her face I'm sure it comforted her.

Good days/bad days all on the same day are par for the course. If nothing else, AD keeps you on your toes and adaptable!!!

As for brother  I am so glad I didn't have to deal with family -- mom's brother, SIL, my dad and my brother all pre-deceased her so the decisions and responsibility were all mine. But I will admit to quite a few heated arguments with myself  To maintain your integrity, maybe once a week you could e-mail brother dearest with an update: "continuing to deteriorate" and if he wants to know more he can ask. We both know he won't ask, but that's HIS problem.

Keeping you in my prayers, crazy sister.
