Joyce, we are getting worried about you. I know your heart is broken and there is no quick fix for that. The healing process will be long and often painful but we are here for you. There is no need to be strong here. You have gone through your years of keeping up that strong front. It's ok to fall apart now. Let us help you put the pieces back together.

For all my friends,
I am ok. Just haven't felt up to posting but I have been around. Takeing it one day at a time and trying to get through.
Now that the weather is a little nicer, I have been doing things outside or just sitting on the deck with a glass of ice tea and a good book.
I was invited to my daughter's in-laws for Easter but declined because I don't feel like celebrating with a lot of people. I did go to my youngest daughter's for a four day weekend. It was just the three of us and we just sat around and relaxed all weekend. I read two books between Fri. night and Sun. morning. So you can see I didn't do a whole lot while there.
My grandson ask me to come back to Chicago, and you can't say no when your 15 year old grandson asks. I'll probably head back there this Wed. or Thur. depending on if I feel like driving when I wake up.

It's good to have friends who care. I'll be back more in the next few days. In the mean time I've posted a message from my daughter Catherine and hope everyone gets a chance to read it.

I'm glad to hear that you are hanging in there.
I think that grandson of yours is the best medicine for you. Get to Chicago. :)

So glad to hear from you Joyce. You are doing just what you're supposed to. Relaxing and taking care of yourself and spending time with your family.
Take care.

What a relief to hear from you Joyce, I've missed you so. I'm glad to hear you have been with family lately and are heading to see that wonderful grandson of yours. You enjoy every second with him and just do what you are doing, whatever you want.

Hurting for you,

~Kelly~

I, too, am glad to hear from you, Joyce. Go visit that grandson of yours. He seems to know you well enough to be your 'medicine.'

Let us know how your trip went when you get back. :D

I'm in Chicago and enjoying the kids. We haven't done anything except eat for three days but there's nothing wrong with that. My daughter left with some friends the day I got here so it was just my son-in-law and the two kids. She got home last night in time for dinner.
Today she went to work and the kids headed off for school. Mike, son-in-law, is working 12 hour shifts on Sat, Sun and Mon, he works all night and is now sleeping. I don't know how he does it. When you say you only work three days a week it doesn't sound like much, but when you get home at 8 am and have to leave again at 3 pm you don't get a lot of sleep. Guess the long drives to work is common in Chicago. Bill always worked twenty minutes from home and was always home by 4. Gave us a long evening to be together.
I'm still up in the air about going to the Wisc. Dells with the kids this weekend. Since I sprung this visit on the kids, I don't want to intrude on their weekend away. I'll play it by ear and see what impression I get as to whether they would want the company. I know Stephen has ask if I was going to go and daughter told me I should wait until Monday to go home, so I could go with them. So I will probably go, but since I have no one to tell me what to do, I'll make up my mind when the time comes depending on what I feel like doing.
When I leave here, I will stop at my sisters again and visit for a couple more days. We don't get to see much of each other and she is less than five miles out of my way going home. her husband passed away 15 years ago and she is on her own, too. The only difference is that she is tied down caring for her grandkids three days a week. I am not going to go that route. I've done my share of caring and now I'm going to be selfish and just care for me.

My computer time is up. I'm in the middle of doing laundry and cooking dinner for my SIL so he can eat before going to work. Sounds like I'm relaxing doesn't it? I guess relaxing means doing what you want and that's what I'm doing so I guess I'm relaxing.

Talk to you later and am looking forward to seeing a lot of you in Chicago in Sept. for the quilt showing.
