I'm pretty sure this is for forums that are informational. It's probably used as a way to see which users know what they are talking about. So if someone posted a good review of a topic, and everyone liked it, they would give that member karma points. Essentially a way to increase the validity of a member. I don't think it's very useful for our forum, but feel free to click away
