WOW! All good news Joyce. A nice, smart, and empathetic Doctor, that does house calls. You can not ask for better than that! Yea, for you & bill! O.K now I have to go post some other good news, believe it or not! :D

I had to check on you & Bill, first!

I can stop worrying about Bill not urinating.
I didn't check him at 4 like I normally would because he hasn't been going during the day. BIIIIIIIIIIIG Mistake. I put him to bed at 6:30. He was so wet and messy that it's a wonder he didn't drown. I moved him into the living room with me to watch TV and when I moved him, there was a watery mess u.nder his chair. I lifted him from his chair and a brown stream came from his diaper. I have never seen him so wet and messy. I had two blue pads over the water proof pad on his bed and they quickly became soaked.

Now I feel guilty for not checking him as usual. He had to have emptied the last two week build up.
His wheelchair had a puddle in it and there was drops down the hallway. He drank four cups of coffee today so no I know what to give him when he doesn't go.

WHAT A MESS. I certainly lost some of those brownie points I've been saving up. I will make sure to check him as usual if he stops going again.

Joyce, I hate to sound gross, but was his 'pee' that dark brown? That would worry me too? Also, you are right, coffee is a diaretic (spelling?) so.....I guess we know for sure, now!

Boy Joyce, it seems you either have nothing or the flood gates open up.
By the way, one thing I remember hospice telling me before they put Helen on the cath, was to kind of press on her abdomin a few times to get her going. Didn't always work though.

Sky,
I can say for sure it wasn't just dark pee.

Lori,
Hospice didn't tell me that, but I did press on his abdomin a few times to see if that would encourage him to go, but nothing happened. It doesn't look like I have to worry about it right now.
The flood gates are open.

Joyce,
Mom used male condom cath's on daddy and it made her urine clean up so much easier. She just put it on at night. Now the other, she would try and regulate just like a potty trained child. After his first cup of coffee in the morn, they'd go directly to the bathroom. Sometimes it was too late :(. The nurse said any warm liquid helps move bowels.
If you haven't tried the condom cathedars I suggest you try. My mom was embarrassed when the person asked her what size. She said "I don't know, just a old man p--size!!" You loose pride with this huh?

I've thought about the condom cath but I just can't see Bill leaving it on. He is still too active to leave any kind of cath in place.

Bill would probably wear the same size as your dad. no pride around here.
