MEMORY WALK FOR BILL

This message is from our daughter Catherine in memory of her dad. She said she just wanted to try to do something for him.

As many of you know, I recently lost my dad to Alzheimer's. I am organizing a memory walk team in honor of my dad. The walk is at the Detroit Zoo on August 22. Please join my team! You can join the team or make a donation at Detroitmemorywalk@alz.org Our team name is Remember Bill. I will be posting more info. as I get it..

I know there are several friends here who live in the area and I would love to have all of you join this walk. The information about the walk can be found on the web site. When you go to the web site, you can join, just remember the name of our team is Remember Bill, or you can make contributions to our team.
To all my local, I'd love to have you join the team. We can walk and see the zoo at the same time.

I would love to join your Daughter's team! I will double check my schedule, and sign up with her, as soon as I can. I would love to walk for all of our Cyber Friends who would be with you on that day, but can't.

I am still waiting for vacation schedule to be finalized. I will participate somehow, either by walking or donating, but probably both! I will register as soon as I know!

Joyce, can I post the information on the other forum?? It may get her some more walkers. as there seems to be a lot of new Michigan members. Heck, maybe I could get her some donations, too! Let me know.

OK, call me a dummy, but, I am trying to sign up with Catherine's team. I got to the part about the "Personalized Web Page Link", and have no idea what I put there!!! HELP!!! How did you get your own donation page??

I just posted some info on the AA forum. I asked them ahead of time, so my post would not get deleted. Good thing I did. They do not want me to post the link to the page, because that would be seeking donations, and we can't DO THAT!!

I had to ask that anyone interested email me, and I would give them more info.

I am getting some response from the AA forum, but it looks like Catherine's team is not accepting new members from the public? I'm not sure what to tell them, because of the above problem I had signing up.

Ahhh, I always have to work when stuff is going on. The most ridiculous thing about my job is they require months and months of notice to take a lousy day off (and then only if someone else isn't off already - guess who ends up working all the holidays and weekends?)!

Dear Joyce & Catherine,

I'll be glad to send a small donation check to Catherine. Our Memory Walk in San Diego is in October, as always. Yours sounds so much more fun at the zoo!

I will be walking with the staff/family members from the AL where Pops lives still. Last year they raised the most from an AL in the county. It's always a great day of walking, talking, T-shirts, food & booths.

With hope, $$$ and prayers, maybe the next generations won't have to worry about this dreaded dis-ease!?! Let's hope it ends with the baby boomers!!! I'm one!
