Hi all,

My dad got to go on a week long golfing trip last week, we were so thrilled for him. One of his greatest fears is that my mom would get violent with the staff at her home. Well, it happened on Thursday. Friday we were having 48 people over for dinner after my son's graduation from the Police Academy so there was lots to be done. I got a call from the home saying that mom was being violent, hitting, kicking, grabbing the staff. She was obsessed with the baby, asking about the baby and calling my name. I talked to Mom on the phone briefly and she sounded so much like before she left home, told me there was a very serious situation going on here and, well, a bunch of garbly goop. When Amber and I got there, one of the office staff was with her getting her calmed down. I brought a baby doll with me and gave it to her, she took one look and said it wasn't real. Why are they so aware when you don't want them to be???? Anyway, she gave the doll back to me then took it again, held it like a real baby and calmed down. Amber and I stayed until lunch, she seemed fine. Apparently she had grabbed the activities director Kim and wouldn't let go and kicked her repeatedly! She also tried to trip one of the girls when they walked by. I'm not sure yet what else happened, but will find out.

Later that day she was upset because she was trying to nurse the baby and it wouldn't nurse. She also didn't want to take a shower because she didn't want to leave the baby. :o :) I was told they may have to take the baby away, but so far they didn't so hopefully it will be a good thing for mom and not a problem. I knew it could backfire, but had to try.

Of course Dad called me later that day from his trip to ask how we all were, then asked about Mom. I told him that when I was there she was just fine!!!! I wasn't about to ruin his trip. I did tell him when he got home though, I knew he would find out and he deserves to know. I was just so glad that he wasn't here to experience it.

So, hopefully Mom will just be a good little mother to that baby doll and all will be well, well, for a while anyway! :) Oh, like everyone says, just when things are moving along fine and you get sortof comfortable, everything changes!!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful summer soaking up some Vitamin D!!!

~Kelly~

Hi Kelly,
Bill never got possessivewith a baby doll, but he did like the stuffed monkey I gave him. He would hold it like a baby and pat it and tell it what a good baby he was. He would talk to it like you would a baby. Even tell it when it was time to go to sleep. He would always smile when I gave it to him.
I hope your mother gets as much enjoyment from her doll as Bill did the stuffed monkey.

I am really glad your dad got away for some R & R I'm sure it did him a lot of good.

How is that real baby doing?

Hi Joyce,

Real baby is doing incredibly well, she is a real sweetheart. Keslie wakes her to feed her every 3 hours throughout the day and then she sleeps at least a 7 hour stretch each night, and then another longer stretch, has been doing so since about a week old. She doesn't cry much at all, very content. We're all in love. We got them one of those European "Tummy Tubs" and it arrived today, can't wait to see her in it. I'm not much for gadgets or newfangled things, but after seeing all those babies on the news so content in them, I was sold!!!

Dad said mom was really agitated today, really jittery. Not sure what is going on, but what do we ever really know about AD? I think we are going to wait and see right now, don't want to start throwing drugs at her if this is just temporary.

Must run and read to the childrens, great to hear from you Joyce,

~Kelly~
