No, I'm not moving, but four times now in six days Daddy has
totally or almost totally (bedding, bathroom, kitchenette,
knick-knacks, lamps, small tables...) packed everything up
during the wee hours of the morning and placed it by his
front door for the movers. He is totally fixated on moving.
I talk him back to reality. We put everything away. I call
him at night to make sure he's still grounded in reality,
or some semblance thereof, and in a day or two it all
happens again. The ALF where he lives gives him Haldol
for agitation on an "as needed" basis. It seems to calm
him down, but it's not helping this delusional behavior.
Any thoughts?

Oh my Carol, that brought back memories of nights when Dad decided to "re-arrange" his bedroom and empty everying out of his wardrobe and chest of drawers. Didn't happen often - but he was usually "packing" to "rejoin his unit abroad" Like yourself, I just put everything away again, and continued the next day as though nothing had happened.

I wish I could give you an answer my dear, but if this is where he is in his "memories", you can only continue to go the way you are going and divert him, as these things will happen from time to time as Dad "re-lives" his past memories. My heart goes out to you Carol, these times are so difficult for us.
