I was reading Joyce's post about humming "He will raise you up" and was thinking about how often we turn to music to get us through the rough times. I thought it would be nice if we shared what gets us through. Here is mine.

Lori,
You have to post Bill's song, "He Will Raise You Up", for me. I have no idea how to do it. Another one He loved and I do, too is "Here I Am Lord".

I listened to yours last night and I can see why you like it. Haven't listened to yours yet Snick, but will do so after reading all the other posts.

Here's one of yours Joyce. Could you give me some of the lyrics to the other one please?

"Here I am Lord" is played at most of our funeral services in church. Beautiful song.

Mine is a bit more esoteric, but Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concert is by far my favorite piece in the world. It is a masterpiece. It is simple enough in form and structure that you can walk away humming the tune, but it's actually one of the most difficult piano concertos in the world. Most difficult piano music is impossible to sing, and the fact that a certain simplicity shines through is pure genius.

Lori,
I found it by entering: He Will Raise You Up on search web and it came up.

It starts: You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in his shadow for life.
Say to the Lord my refuge
My rock in whom I trust

And he will raise you up on eagles wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine ilike the sun
And hold you in the palm of his hand

Several different versions come up, but I liked the first one with the picture of the angel.

This was one of Bill's favorites and I hope you can find it and put it here.

One of these days you'll have to tell me how to do it.

I think yours and mine are the same Anita. "He will Raise You Up" is also called "On Eagles Wings". Listen to the one I figured out how to enter and see if they are the same.

one of the songs I always thought of during some of my mantras ("its just the disease")---was "They're comming to take me away"---

anyone hear "silent house" (believe thats the title)--by Dixie Chicks....?

Any old 70s song does it for me. I like Fleetwood Mac- You can go your own way

"These Are The Days Of Our Lives" by Queen, I think it was Freddie Mercury's last song before he passed away.
