Does anyone know what happened to our quilt project, from the other board? I know that "campingnana" was in charge of sewing it together, but have no contact info for her. I stumbled on an .org through facebook, and you have all probably heard about it, but they have a HUGE, great quilt collection, and viewing project, going on right now, (like the AIDS quilt, HUGE!) and I wondered if it would be a good home for ours, if I can find it.

I can't post the link here, but try googling "The Alzheimers Foundation" and look for the video about the quilts, it is awesome!

And if anyone has campingnana's E-Mail addy, could they copy & paste this to her, and give her mine?

Thanks!

This gal Josie, found me, on facebook, I don't know how, but she is a real sweet-heart, and is in charge of the whole traveling quilts project. This is the message I received from her today. I will post it on the 'old' board too! I am held-up, in doors, Thank-God!  There is a wild blizzard up here!

Nancy,

Thanks for your note. (This is my alternate e-dress). The AFA Quilt to Remember has been in existence since 2005 and we
just completed the third year of touring it around the country. I'm starting to put together the plans for 2009 and would
love to have your group's participation. After the holidays let's plan on speaking live time and perhaps putting a plan in
place to do this! It sounds like an amazing series of squares that you all have gathered and it would be great to link it to
what we already have.

Have a wonderful holiday and let's speak after the New Year (or via email/facebook !!)

Best,

Josie

Sky, campingnana has been going through a lot of stuff since her mom died. She hasn't started the quilt. If you know someone who can put the squared together, I can arrange to get them to you.

O.K. Well it wouldn't be me, because I don't have a sewing machine? Do you know how many squares we ended up with? I'm sure someone is crafty in here. I am sorry for campingnana, and please give her my best, when you talk with her again.

Lori; Do you know what the size of each square was, and how many we had? I think Josie is considering sewing them up for us, and taking them on the road! Maybe I will try to post a 'poll' on the old board, to see how many folks are interested in seeing this happen, with our quilt squares. Originally, many years ago it seems. we were talking about auctioning it off for money, and then putting the proceeds towards repsite care, or research & education, but I would be happy, just to see them finished, and being displayed, how about you?

So I vote yes.

P.S. This is Josie's hearts desire, and I think she does it all for free, not sure, maybe she works for "The Alzheimers Foundation?"

Gosh Sky, I have no idea but I know campingnana was going to make a wall hanging instead of a quilt so there can't be too many squares. I don't think there were more than 20.
