Grits--I bet you wish you COULD just go play in your room... for a very, very long time!

LOLOL, Carol, you're right!

It's funny because we work so hard to distract her and she works just as hard to distract us. Gotta admire her spunk, LOL. :)

Goodness, I also have to search through the trash to make sure she hasn't thrown away clothing along with other stuff. I used to think when I couldn't find a particular shirt or pair of pants that she may have left them at my brother's house. The last time I was there, I asked him if I could get her stuff and he said they didn't have any of her clothes. The same day, I discovered a shirt she didn't particularly care for in the garbage.

Go play in your room! LOL My mom said I was "bitchy." She does know I'm her "daughter," but I'm not sure if she really connects that I'm her child. With my brother and the dogs, she gets the concept that she is part of their family.

Gosh, I really have to laugh reading your post girls. I swear your in my house!!

The other day I was in my room making my bed, dusting, cleaning out some drawers. Mom came up to her bedroom 5 times (her room is right next to mine). I asked her what she was looking for, and 5 times she said I don't know, but something. Now mind you, that wasn't the problem. It's just that she's really wobbly coming up the stairs (only 3) and gets dizzy when walking. So each time she came up, I could see her. I had to stop what I was doing, get her up the stairs and guide her to her room.

Finally after the 5th time, I told her that was it! Either she had to stay in her room until she figured out what she wanted in there, or stay down until she figured it out. But she was "not" going to come up and down again. For something that was only going to take me a half an hour, took me an hour. Needless to say, the rest of the day was miserable. Of course she remembered that I yelled at her. Seems like they don't forget that.

Oh and the meals. Ever been accused of not feeding her? At dinner time she asks when dinner is going to be ready. When I tell her she says, oh good, I'm so hungry. You haven't fed me all day! Thats after cereal and fruit or pancakes for breakfast, a sandwich, chips, fruit or whatever for lunch, and sometimes snacks in between. Of course instead of shutting up most times, I remind her that she did eat. And then it starts all over. What am I crazy? Don't you think I would remember if I ate? I'll never learn!!

Oh, my mother is Italian by the way. 100% Italians with AD is not a pretty picture. She doesn't speak Italian, she speaks English, but she sure remembers the swear words!!!

Jackie, I had to laugh when you said your mom stated she hadn't been fed all day. I can testify that if anyone ever goes to your house, they don't leave with an empty belly!

That's classic.

My mom forgets she's eaten too, sometimes before she even gets up from the table. But then again, my cooking's not always very memorable, lol.

My mouth still waters when I think of that fillet Jackie made with the wine gravy. Omg....I haven't had anything that delicious since my mother's swiss steak. And that is saying a lot! I could have shamelessly eaten another helping of that and not batted an eye doing it.
