Greetings Caregivers,

This forum was created as an additional avenue for caregivers to communicate with one another. This is a safe environment to make friends who are experiencing many of the same things you may be going through. If you are new to forums don't feel overwhelmed, this is a very simple concept. When entering the site you should click on register (top of your screen). Here you will be asked to create a username, and choose a password. Once you have completed this, an email confirmation will be sent to you. After you follow the email instructions and confirm your account you can begin asking questions and responding to posts. To enter a forum click on the forum name in bold text from the list on the homepage. Once you enter that forum you can read topics (threads) and replies that others have posted. To create your own thread within a forum click on the "New Topic" button on the left, give your thread a subject, type your message body, and then click "preview" to look at the thread before submission, or "submit" to post the thread. You have the option to edit the thread after posting it, so don't worry if you accidentally clicked submit. Once your profile is created you can also add a signature to your posts by clicking on Profile, and editing the signature box. An example of what you may want to include in the signature line would be your care arrangements, how long you have been the primary caregiver, and current state of decline: e.g., "Caring for my grandmother, four years, moderately-severe decline".
