I like this forum much better than the other(s). It just feels more calm and friendly. I like that I "know" the people here.

On the AA forum, there are so many new names, that it feels strange now. It just seems like a ton of new people joined all at one time. Also, I am suspicious that some of the people are not "real", so to speak.

But here, I feel more safe. Do you know what I mean?

I am so grateful for this forum.

And I, for one (of I suspect many), am so grateful for you, Val Gal.
You know, if anyone has a suggestion or question for Aitain, he
can easily be reached throught the "pm" buttom. Just pull his
profile up and pm him anytime. He is quite responsive and
appears to be rather on the democratic than autocratic side of
things!

I agree 100%! This forum is way better and it's nice having some familiar "faces" around :).

Yes, it feels good to come home. :)

Thanks to each of you for keeping your porch light on.

I like it here, too. It feels so much more cozy and warm and caring. And it is so wonderful to see all of our "old" friends showing up to join us.

I still visit the dark side just to keep tabs on a few people. Maybe with a little nudge they might be willing to come over here.

I agree with you VG

I feel safe here. I haven't felt safe on the "other " place for a while!

I noticed a major increase in new people all within a week of each other!!!!! Sort of seemed odd to me.

[font=Century Gothic] I really like it here too. I think it has much to do with the fact that this forum is so much more personalized. Aitan has become a "Person" in charge here. Not a corporation (AA). And by he inviting Lori and Carol to moderate shows it is "open" to the members here. I think that gives us all some sense of control over the environment in which we share ourselves.

Thanks again to Aitan, and to Lori and Carol :D

I second all the positive responses. Most of us are familiar with each other. Not to say new ones aren't welcome. But it's kind of like when you go to a party by yourself - you scan the room for anyone you know & a familiar face puts you at ease.

It feels safer. It feels like we can be more honest and open about our feelings. And, I personally feel more at ease knowing there's relatively little chance my most personal feelings won't end up on someone's blog.

Thank you Aitan and everyone else here who are creating a new special place! I'm so happy to be a part of it and thank you for welcoming me into the fold.

HiYa All,
I love it here, too, and surely do appreciate the open arms
of this open forum.
Now, I don't want to put a damper on things, but I do want
to remind everyone that this is still a public form, which can
be visited by anyone. A certain amount of anonymity is a
good thing, as is a certain amount of caution in posting
personal info. I've tried the "pm" button a few times, and I
think it does work, so that's a good vehicle for more private
messages, if you like.
Now Carry On (and on and on and on), and God Bless!

P.S. ValGal,
The scooter idea for your g'son sounds really cool, especially as
it is something that he probably sees "older" kids doing. Anything
that takes them out of that babyish world they are leaving behind
at that stage is hunky dorey in their eyes (at least from my limited
experience with one son). :D

To all my friends,
I LOVE it here too! I know between Aitan, Lori and Carol they will always try to make it as safe and comfortable as they have the power to.

Thank you again!

Love,
jackie

I have to agree with all of you wonderful people! This forum is such a calm and peaceful place. Yes, we know anyone can come and join, we will just have to hope it always stays full of great, kind, and compassionate folks. It is great seeing all the familiar "faces" so to speak! Who said it was like coming home? You got that right! It seems every time I am on here, there pops up a new "old" friend from the other places, and it is so nice to welcome them all. We will have to go back and keep inviting our caring friends to come here.
