Brilliant Jezza, I didn't see this until today, where have I been????? Crazyland, that's where. Anyway, I am going to have my dad read this right away and "fix" my mom's remote, she has a terrible time with it. Yay, I'm so thrilled!!!

Thanks,

~Kelly~

Jezza - I am curious to know your opinion on the Hytek Series of Remotes. I am specifically thinking of the Tek Pal remote. I gave this phone to Mrs. N (who is in hospice) and she was a bit hesitant (the whole change thing) but after a week we where back rocking and rolling. Let me know your thoughts.

Here is a link to the remote i was referring to:

That remote looks great for certain limited contexts. If you have a satellite box or if your cable signal is fed through a VCR or DVD player then you can't use it. It looks like this remote can only change channels directly on a TV. The advantage to my method is that you can make any remote this simple.

If you want to buy a simple remote I definitely recommend the weemote. It's almost as simple and you can make it cycle through a limited number of channels that you choose. It works with any device, etc.

We tried the weemote but it was not effective. It was designed for kids, and the shapes of the buttons confused my dad. So we got a new remote that has great reviews, Flipper Remote. The benefit if that the buttons have their full function labelled, so my dad knows what Volume and Channel do. It also only works the TV and set top box. The set up locks, and it has a favorite channel list also. Its called Flipper Remote. Flipper Big Button Remote
