Lori, I am so sorry that you were banned from the other forum. I was told about that yesterday, and it made me very angry. I do not see how that can happen when you were not even posting. I sent an e-mail to Peter Reed about the issues on that forum, but got the form letter another poster got when they also asked him to explain why this is happening. Go figure. I guess we will all end up here where we can have peace, and be able to support one another without fear. There will be some more coming here very soon. Blessings to you.

I have had a feeling for some time that the entire Alzheimer's national association has been plagued with the inertia of bureaucracy. It seemed especially evident to me when the care consultants answered questions. Might as well of told people to look it up for themselves as far as most answers went. I understand being cautious but good grief.

I don't feel that way about our local chapter here.

Maybe it is simply inevitable that larger organizations become bureaucratic. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't seem to paralyze them from taking any forward motion. Everyone seems to be all about keeping the status quo and following the rules more than they care about trying to find help for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers.

It would be wonderful to seem someone wanting to lead the thing into being more effective in advocacy and aid and actual help.

Just my opinion and worth very little.

:D Well I can E-Mail my list of 20, with a formal invite? Some will be dups because you are on that list ,of course Lori.

But also what about "The Glo-Mail-List" that has 50 members on it? Would that be too cheesy? I am sure they all miss....You?

I'll send out mine, and you think about The Glo-Mail List. :D

Flinty,

I TOTALLY agree with everything you said! That is exactly how I feel too. It's the old "can't see the forest for the trees" situation.

I agree with you Flinty. I will however be walking in the Alzheimer's walk next weekend. I have already signed up and my friends have donated. As far as i am concerned though, I will be walking to honor Helen, not for the Association.

Let's hear it for walking for Helen. We'll be there with you in spirit Lori. Celebrating Helen and you as her loving caregiver.

Are you taking Sammie?

Lori, I know how you feel I tried to take my 2 spoiled babies and BFM out for a stroll (her in her wheelchair). I end up carrying one of them and putting on in her lap.. and I was the only one getting any exercise.. LOL

I am glad we have this forum. I got the point I didn't want to post on the old one incase he-who-shall-remain-nameless started something up.

I agree about the beauacracry..(my spelling stinks)...that forum is just covered in red tape.
