We never get too old to want our mommy. It hits me most when I am sick too. I always used to call mom when I didn't feel well and tell her that I didn't want advice, I just wanted her to say "Poor baby". It's so strange, my dad passed in 1978 and mom passed in 2004 and I still feel like a 52 year old orphan. :?

I agree Lori, you are never to old to want your Mommy..

I know that I have the pleasure of still having my Mom to call and talk to every day if I want. She lives up near my daughter so I don't get to see her often.. but sometimes it helps just to hear her voice and have her tell me to dry the tears or everything will be ok.

Pat I know how you feel as well about the nice little ladies that you work for. Even though I put so much time and energy in taking care of BFM, and I love her dearly and will truly miss her when she is no longer with us.. she is still not my Mom. It's different very different. There isn't that bond there. But you know the same goes for Daddy's too.

I got a card from my daughter the other day and she started it out saying Mommy! Not Mom or Mother or Momma but Mommy.. I couldn't get any further than that first line before I was crying..

Just to have her call me Mommy from time to time makes all the knuckle headed things she has ever done go away..

OK pass the tissue please.. sniff
