QM is now in the active dying stage. She started sleeping Thursday afternoon and has not been awake since. The hospice nurse confirmed our observations yesterday and guessed that she has less than 48 hours. Her hands are ice cold but her feet are warm.She has very little urine output now. We are keeping her comfortable with morphine and atavan.

My bro from Wyoming and SIL are here till the end to be with us. The nurse told me that I can give her both meds .50 every hour if needed but she is staying comfortable on a smaller dose about every three hours right now. She keeps getting hiccups, 5 or 6 per hour.

I just told her to grab FT and have him introduce her to all of your LO's and throw a big party.

I am so very sorry to hear of QM's decline. Even though we know it is coming, it is still hard. I am glad you are not alone.

I will light a candle for her. You got that right, that FT is waiting for her!

Oh Hon-I am so very sorry to read your last post. I am so glad you are not going through this by yourself-know also that we are holding you tight in our thoughts and prayers.

Tender hugs and many prayers are being sent to you. And you are so right FT is just waiting to hold QM tight in his arms and there will be a huge party with all our loved ones joining in to welcome her home.

QM is still with us this morning. She has been resting up for that big party with all of the other LOs I guess. We have all told her that it is OK to go and that FT is waiting for her but she is still hanging on.

QM is still hanging in here. The hospice nurse told us today that her pacemaker may be restarting her heart by way of a defib. They are going to try to reach the cardiologist in the AM to see if someone can come turn off the defib feature. Right now she is having about 10 breaths per minute and has two or three hiccups about every 5 minutes. She will also go as long as 30 seconds between some breaths. Everytime we think it is her last breath but then she starts breathing again.


Darn! I hate the long goodbye part. One of her arms started leaking today and soaked the bed.
