We have a tentative date that our quilt will be in Chicago. I spoke to Amanda who is handling everything and she said they are finalizing the dates. As of now it will be there Sept. 23 or 24. Maybe both days and maybe only one of those dates. She'll let me know when the exact date is finalized. It will be displayed at the Hyatt McCormick located at 2233 So. Martin, Luther King Drive. I'm not familiar with downtown Chicago so I don't know exactly where the Hyatt is.

Now any of you who are wanting to have a square made for your LO, let me know right away so we can get them to Amanda as soon as possible. Remember all I need to make your square is a picture of your LO and a short bio. telling what you remember about them that you want others to know
She will be talking to the person who made our other quilts and will make sure she is still willing and able to put another one together for us. I should be hearing from her the early part of next week. I'll keep you informed on what I hear.

AWESOME! You are doing a great job, Joyce, and as you know, I am going to try to come join you, in September. I never spoke to Amanda, and got the other 20 done. Maybe it would have been easier, if I had spoken to her directly? Doesn't matter, you have the right contact # now! Woowhoooo~~~~

The contact number won't do much good without the squares, and I can't complete the squares without pictures. That's all I'm waiting for. Come on people send me a picture of your LO.

Come on everybody, let's get those pictures to Joyce. This could be your last opportunity to be a part of this. What a wonderful tribute to our loved ones. With these quilts, their legacy will go on forever.

Now, who all is going to be in Chicago for this? I'm going to try to be there. Let's try to get a big group together.

I will be there. My daughter is working on trading a time share for on near Chicago for that time. If she can do that, we can all stay together. Keep your fingers crossed she can do it. I'll let you know.

I'm working on it, Joyce. I haven't looked through pictures in a really long time and wasn't quite prepared for the impact. I had a friend come over yesterday to help with a short bio but Mom's behavior pretty much spoiled the moment, which led us both to tears comparing the used-to's to the now's. Dang it, I'm trying to see this as a positive, and being pressed for time as a good thing to get me on the ball and do it. But, wow!

Well, we'll see what today brings. At least Mundee started our day with a good chuckle! :) I'll keep a close eye on your deadline and won't leave you hanging, okay? Hey, there's always Fed-Ex. Ah, if only I could Fed-Ex myself to Chicago!

Oh gosh Joyce, if your daughter can pull it off that would be so awesome. We can have a big slumber party. Fingers and toes crossed.

Hay Gang,

That Hyatt hotel is located near McCormick Place (a HUGE convention center) on the south end of the downtown area. It is easy to get to and from via expressway and lakeshore drive. However, I would not reccomend staying there, unless you're working a tradeshow - great for salemen/business travelers . Its kind-of like an island, no resturants, bars, etc in the immediate vincinity.

This is exciting. Can't wait to meet everyone. I live 20 minutes west of downtown so I can help with directions/information.

Take care

Eileen
