One morning last week, I was getting Bill up and changing his wet clothes. I told him we had to take his shirt off so he, as much as possible, helped me get it off. Once we got it off, he looked at me and said "OK, your turn now". There are still times he does or says something that actually makes me laugh.

Yesterday at respite, the aide was there at the same time I was. He reached out for her hand and puckered up to give her a kiss. I guess our LOs still want that affection. We're not the only ones who miss what was.

Too cute, Joyce. I'll tell you, if it wasn't for those humorous moments, I never would have made it through caregiving. Although Bill's humor seems to be more lucid than Helen's was, I will still never forget her shaking those boobs at me. :)

Joyce43, my Mom went through a brief stage (no pun intended) when she wanted me to drop my pants to check my gender because she would, for 2 or 3 minutes, believe I was a guy! And a few times she asked in such a "mischievous, little girl" way a time or two. :o

You're right, Lori, it sure does bring back memories. If it hadn't been for a lot of laugh out loud moments, it would have been a lot harder. I can't imagine being a caregiver and not being or learning to be a comedienne as well!

So, Joyce43, enjoy the moment and "take your turn!" :D :D :D

If you think that was funny howdy, you should have seen what he did when the aide was changing his diaper and washing him up and putting salve down where the sun don't shine. I had to do some fast talking then

Joyce,

I always like to hear these funnies about our loved ones. To put humor in this disease is so very hard. So its nice to hear that our loved ones are actually the ones that are coming out with the humor. Almost makes you think if at times they really do realize that you need that funny.
