Tomorrow is the Alzheimer's memory walk. A little later today i will be packing a bag and the dog and I are heading to Burbank to stay with a friend. I live about 2 hours from where the walk is and Burbank is only about 15 minutes from there so it will be easier for me.

I will be meeting some people there that I have met on the AA board. As happy as I am about that, it is overshadowed by an overwhelming saddness. You see, tomorrow also would have been Helen's 75th birthday. Even typing that, the tears are streaming down my face.

This walk is for you my dear freind. :(

Lori,

May your walk tomorrow not only help fund AD research but may each step along the way reinforce your love for Helen on her special day.

How about releasing a balloon at the beginning of the walk just for Helen and have your team sing her Happy Birthday? Just a suggestion.

Will be thinking of you and Helen tomorrow, my friend.

Love you,

Joyce

Hope you don't mind Lori and I am sure you will be wearing it, but I saved this picture for you some time ago, in case there was somewhere I could send it back to you.

Will be thinking of both you and Helen tomorrow little one, this is for her.

Oh thank you for posting that. That brought a smile to my face. Yes I will be wearing it.

Joyce, i like the idea of singing happy birthday. Helen always felt that she had a birth MONTH instead of just one day. We really did have to celebrate it all month too.

My friend, of course it will be a mixture of feelings tomorrow and rightly so. Honor Helen with your walk, with your tears, with singing Happy Birthday, with ballons, with your heart.

Sometimes dreading a day is worse than the day, at least from my experience. And sometimes regular ol' days can be the most difficult. Your fellow caregivers, though strangers in person, will have empathy and surround you with love. And the rest of us who can't be there, will definitely be surrounding you with prayers and love.

March on, dear friend, march on!!

Love, Ann

Wow Lori, how cool is that? We will all be thinking about you while you are doing the walk. You are a real blessing, and a great example for me.

Hi Lor, Lor! I was wondering how you were feeling about, traveling, and the walk. I know it will be a sad day for you, as all the 'first's will be, but not a better way could I think of spending it, not only with friends (and we are friends!) but with people that truely understand what you have been through, and what you life has been like, these last Six Years!

Like a Big-Giant Support-Group, designed just for You!

"Happy Birth-Month Helen!" We are trying to take care of Lori. She misses You so!

Take your Camera, and try to soak it all in.

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, you Lori!

Lori,
What a wonderful way to be honoring Helen tomorrow. She would be proud. And knowing that the walk was on her birthday, oh I'm sure she would be thrilled. Would think that it was planned in honor of her, And who knows. As Ann would call it "Godsequense"?

As you meet some of our wonderful friends, please tell them hello, and big hugs from me.

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Lori.

Love,
Jackie

Hey Lori,

I'm gonna be thinking of you all tomorrow. Wishing you good weather, fresh air, and a really great time meeting old friends from the AA board. Wish I was there too.
I know Helen will be watching, Lori, and "shakin' a boob" for you.
