I'm getting on a plane on Tuesday, marking my 19th visit, to see & care for my Mom, since I moved to Montana. And not a moment too soon! Tom has been feeling awful, lost a lot of weight, has blurry vision, feeling nauseous, and who knows why? He has the same lousy Primary, (O.K Useless) as my Mother, so, he had a bunch of tests, and they do not hear back for a month, or even longer? But here is the deal, he is the ONLY driver, and this means, they are basically Shut-Ins now. I'm no longer speaking to either Sister, just Eva, because the one with Medical POA said she was glad, there was some SPACE between our visits, because she thought they needed the BREAK??!!?? I lost it, sent her a hateful , but honest E-Mail, and I can kiss both of them Good-Bye, and I don't care. So, in the mean time, I researched my brains out, and have narrowed the In-Home-Health-Care "Companion Care" mostly, to a company that is highly recommended, they are only two blocks away, and will remind Mom to take her afternoon pill, do Grocery Shopping, light house keeping, Laundry, have an extra Car, another set of Eyes & Ears. They are trained to help with bathing, and even toiletry, when the time comes, so we'll see. Here is the tough part, they still think they are FINE??!!? They are so NOT fine? Mom called yesterday to ask me about something, and I asked her when the last time was that they left the house, and she couldn't remember, and either could Tom! They were eating Crackers W/ Peanut Butter, and Campbell's soup??? OMG????

So, I asked them if I could get someone to go get them groceries, and Tom says "Well we have a very nice girl, she lives in Montana, and she will get groceries, when she comes!" OMG! So wait another FIVE days, for groceries??? Anyway, you know how I worry about them, I actually told Eva, someone is likely to find them both, dead in their bed, I just hope they go at the same time! She thought I was trying to replace her, and I had to explain, NO, no way, she is the best, best, best, we just need more help @ $25.00 per hour, not $110.00 per hour? I think she understands, I sure hope so. She told me she has fallen In-Love, with Mom & Tom, and thinks of them like her own parents. So sweet, still need more help.

So, I sure could use the prayers, you know how hard this hurdle is, outside help, strangers in their house, they would rather fly me in, round trip, 2,400 miles, to Mother-Sit, while Tom get's Dental surgery, doesn't make much sense, but "I'M COMING MOTHER!" Pray they will say "YES!" to "Maxim Health Services!"

Have a good trip Sky. I hope you find your mother and Tom better off than you think right now. It never hurts to have more eyes on the situation so the extra help may be nice.

Since it's so close to Thanksgiving, I guess you will be spending it with Mother and Tom.
.
Praying for you and your mother

Thanks Joyce, Yes, spending Thanksgiving with them, which was the original plane, or excuse, anyway! My fortune cookie read "Be ready to change your plans, quickly" But I am always prepared, for just about anything? I've even been wondering, what if Tom were to Die, while I am there? Me & Mom, move into a Hotel, and then what? It is all so ridiculous, and unbearable for me.

I will take those Prayers, I think I will need them!

Sky,

Have a good trip and enjoy your time with mom. Your visits make her so happy, and that should help ease your distaste for the surroundings. Have a great Thanksgiving.....we all have so much to be thankful for.

Thank-You Karenlee. You are right, it sure helps. I am considering petitioning for Guardianship, which is kind of like trying to get full custody, of a full grown child, with their own attorney, and much more money, but...I don't know what else to do? All prayers are certainly welcome! Now that Tom, is in worse health than my Mom, something has to change, and fast. I sure wish that HIS Daughter would help, she only lives 1 1/2 hours away, and sees him about once per year??? It is, what it is. I'll be on Planes & Trains & Automobiles, all day tomorrow~
